I took the plunge

Between picking up 10 pounds that I really want to lose and knowing I need to begin exercising (for health, regardless of weight), I signed up at the Activity Center last week. Me! I would have never thought it. David has an automatic membership this semester since he's taking 4 hours here and it only costs $15/month for me (you can't beat that!). It's $5/visit for guests, so this emotionally obligates me to 3 visits a month.

Well, the rest of the story is that I got the group exercise schedule and figured out which ones I could go to, and yesterday, I went to my FIRST EVER group exercise class. Wow! It was Strengthen and Sculpt, and was a very good experience. There were only 4 of us, all girls -- that's 3 "participants" and the 1 instructor. I was probably the oldest of the 4, but not by much. And the three of us were similar as far as being in shape; the other two probably more so than me, but I could keep up okay.

I can't go today at all because of David's orientation, but I'll go as I can. David and I both did a little workout at home this morning; he did cardio on the elliptical machine and I did strengthening on the floor mat.

David didn't end up having quite as long of a day today as we thought he'd have; he thought he had to be at Tech at 8, but it's not 'til 11. So he's got some time to study and relax. He says they must just be measuring for scrubs and giving them some initial information before classes begin tomorrow. Well, at least we got a trial run at getting us all up and gone by around 7am.
