Our Garden

Here are David and Gabriel in our garden. So far we're mainly getting green beans and purple hull peas (yum!), with a few little cherry tomatoes. We've got some "baby" yellow squash coming, as well as some cucumbers, and ONE watermelon and, as of tonight, ONE spaghetti squash. Oh, and some lima beans. We have okra plants but no okra yet; same with cantaloupe and honeydew.
I'm learning about digital scrapbooking (using Creative Memories products) -- very fun! That's my new hobby. David bought me a new laptop yesterday because our old Dell couldn't handle the programs very well. It was old and needed to be replaced soon, anyway. We got an HP from Office Depot. I'm using it now! =-)
David took me shopping for my birthday (a little early). I told him what I wanted this year was some new clothes. I'm sure some of that was fueled by the pregnancy and not being able to wear "real" clothes for a while! I still have at least 10 pounds to lose to be back to where I want to be, but I'm very thankful it's just 10 pounds. I expect these 10 may take me a while to lose. I can wear about half of the clothes I was wearing pre-pregnancy, but I'm not going to lose hope yet for the other half.
I tried to make us some Greek food for supper last night. It was good, but I've got so far to go to learn how to cook Greek food. But tonight I'm getting to snack on Triscuits and hummus, so that's a treat!
Today we went to David's grandmother's in Quitman to help shell peas. They have a big garden with LOTS of peas. We got to bring some home (we picked them before we left, so now we need to shell these, too), as well as some yellow squash, green beans, and okra.
After we shelled peas, we went out in the woods and picked a jar full of blackberries! MaMaw says she'll make some jam and give us a jar. Sounds yummy!

One Month Old!

Sorry I've been negligent in posting lately. Everyone with a newborn or parents of three (which I'm still very new to) knows how life is for us right now! (Good, but very busy -- in that I don't sleep much and yet I hardly get anything done.) But it's worth it, and it's fun.Gabriel is now one month old. Already! Unbelievable. But when you combine the sleep deprivation that comes along with the baby, PLUS an out-of-town family wedding thrown in for good measure -- time flies! I think we're starting to settle into a new routine, though. I'm glad.
So here are some pictures and a quick note. I do post more pictures online to our Shutterfly account, so be sure to check that out, since sometimes that's all I have time to do. Tonight Jayden is at her Nana's and I'm up late having some "me" time. But I do hear Gabriel beginning to stir, so my time is probably about over ....
