Sunday

This morning I fixed sourdough pancakes. They are much thinner than "normal" pancakes, and definitely had a sourdough flavor -- but they were good. It's hard for me to say after only this one time of having sourdough pancakes which one I like better. I'm used to the other way, but that doesn't mean I didn't like the sourdough ones. I'll probably do both for a while and figure out which one is better.

For lunch we had sweet potatoes, turnip greens, and cornbread. We ate out on the patio under our new umbrella. Friday evening we bought a new push mower (ours had fulfilled its duty) and while we were there got an umbrella for our table, too.

Friday night we spent the night out at David's parents'. That was a nice treat. We got home a little after lunch time on Saturday.

Jayden is having trouble keeping her food down; she's throwing up a lot. She's not having other symptoms, though, so it's a little confusing. She does seem to be responding to Imitrol (sp?). We'll give her a dose in the morning and try to take her to school and see how she does.

Last night I made sourdough bread in my bread machine. I let the machine do the kneading and then put the dough in my loaf pan to rise and then baked it in the oven. It turned out well. This was Attempt #3; the first two loaves turned out the best so far. I'm going to keep working on it.

For supper last night we tried a recipe my sister had given me, Barley and Asparagus. We liked it. And I have leftover asparagus we'll get to eat later in the week.
