Hong Kong - Dec 8

Today's been good. The morning was as usual, lately -- Jayden in bed with us, keeping me awake. David got up and worked a little bit and then ended up falling asleep on the couch. Jayden and I got up around 6:30, I think. We ate breakfast and I worked for a while. I feel fine today except I don't have much of a voice. I think I'll have enough to make do for class tonight. The good thing about this class is there is a lot of group work involved and class discussion, so it's not like I have to talk constantly for 2 3/4 hours -- only intermittently! Either way, it's a lot, but that does make a difference. Right at noon we were able to talk to my parents and then to David's mom and brother. Now David and Jayden are gone; I think David's plan was to head to Causeway Bay and go to Toys R Us and the grocery store (the Wellcome store). David was going to check out the busses and transportation without Joshua and see if there are other options for us we don't know about yet. I think I'm going to dry my hair and then take Joshua out for a short walk down to the Park n Shop. I've got plenty to keep me busy inside, but it's a pretty day and getting outside for just a minute and enjoying the sunshine will be nice. It will probably help me get focused, too, for working some more when we get back. We had a simple breakfast of toast and boiled eggs and a banana. For lunch we had our leftover stir-fry that David had made. We still have our Indonesian food (our take-away from the other night) and some leftover beans and rice, plus several other things we could fix. I made Joshua and Jayden some "local pumpkin" with an apple and it seemed to turn out really good. I know Jayden in particular approves. She had some for breakfast and lunch! I'm getting close to finishing my course grades from my fall classes. The students and I will both be glad when those are finalized and posted. Jayden seems to be much better today. Her eyes are still slightly pink, but nothing like before, and not matting today. David and I both feel much better. This morning Joshua was running a low fever, but he seems to be feeling okay. We're watching him. I guess the travel got to all of us; usually we're not sick like this. But we're fine -- and thank you so much for your prayers. Aleecia
