Hong Kong - Dec 12 (2)
So last night I crashed, and this morning up again by 7:00. I stayed in my pj's and worked all morning; David was so gracious to fix breakfast and keep the kids (one in particular) occupied. I was able to get my work done rather quickly. By lunch time I was almost through, so much so that we got to get out for a little while. David fixed lunch: fresh green beans with garlic and onion, some type of Chinese greens that were good (I'm forgetting what they were called), and salmon. It was all very good. Oh, and David got to visit with his Dad on the phone, mostly about the Saints' game, but they also talked about the Nativity movie and a few other things. I'm not sure when we'll try to see the Nativity, but I do want to see it. I don't mind waiting until closer to Christmas. I think we'll get some Christmas programs in this weekend with the two churches. Maybe we could even go to the movie on Christmas Eve, that would be nice. The Christmas party is going to be Saturday night the 23rd. I don't know, we'll think about it and figure it out. We left the apartment around 2:30 to head to North Point. We took Bus 27 and got off on King's Rd, and started walking. We went into several shops, even some clothes shops. In one store we looked at suits for me, and I tried on three. There was a red one I kind of liked, but it was $50 (US) -- and I wasn't ready to commit when I feel like I've just begun looking. I think there are some really good prices around if I don't buy too early. I'm not sure it's a suit I would have paid $50 for in the US. It's nice, but I don't know if it's that nice. Plus, I know right where it is if I want to go back and get it. David mentioned the bakery this time, and I went inside and chose 4 things for us: a tuna Danish -- I didn't know what to expect, but it was good, a chicken and cheese roll (mostly a big roll with a few little pieces of chicken in the middle and topped with cheese), a chicken and corn pizza (different, but good), and a pineapple-egg custard roll -- rich and sweet and yummy. That was our supper. We went into the Wellcome store and bought some groceries: bread and juice and fruit (apples, bananas, mandarin oranges, grapes), oatmeal cookies, butter -- I can't think of anything else. Then we headed to the bus stop to come home. When we got to our stop we then went to the Park n Shop to get water and eggs -- we didn't want to try to take the eggs too far and the water is so heavy. I'm wondering how bad the rain is going to be when it comes. I guess we'll find out! When we got home it was time for me to get ready and go to class. When I got back up here after class, my whole family was asleep in Joshua's bed. Jayden woke up for a few minutes and I put her back to sleep and moved her to our bed, but I haven't talked to David or Joshua yet since I've been home. I'm hoping to get to visit with David for a few minutes before I crash. I'm tired but okay for now. I'm glad to get to write and do a few things online tonight.
